April 23: World Book and Copyright Day

Dollar Desam
Pa. Raghavan
Quote:
America is a country that has made wars an opportunity for making income. This has been so with it for a long time. The garbage behind its glamour, the despotism behind its democracy, the burden of debt behind its prosperity are important issues to be understood. By describing the complete political history of the country, this book brings to view the real face of America. This appeared as a series in Kumdam Reporter.

The Da Vinci Code
Dan Brown
Quote:
The Bible is neither a book dropped out of heaven nor a creation of man. Rather, it is one that, while coming from God, is written by real people.

Pour Your Heart Into It
Howard Schultz
Quote:
tells the story of how small-company values, passion, and integrity turned six local coffee stories into the Starbucks chain.

A brief History of Time
Stephen W. Hawking
Quote:
... if we do discover a complete theory, it should in time be understandable in broad principle by everyone, not just a few scientists. Then we shall all, philosophers, scientists, and just ordinary people, be able to take part in the discussion of the question of why it is that we and the universe exist. If we find the answer to that, it would be the ultimate triumph of human reason - for then we would know the mind of God.

Kallikattu Ithikasam
Vairamuthu
Quote:
It’s a mixture of various emotions like Friendship, Love, sadness, sufferings and depression faced by him.

People, who experienced the Village life, would relate each and every moment of the story with their lives.I bet your eyes will become wet, when you complete the last page of the Novel.

Jonathan Livingstone Seagull
By Richard Bach
Quote:
I don't mind being bone and feathers, mom. I just want to know what I can do in the air and what I can't, that's all. I just want to know.

You Surprised Me
Joe Mannath
Quote:
Behind our dark moods and secret longings, among cobwebs of fear and doubt, are surprises waiting to happen—surprises that can sustain enthusiasm and hope. The truth about each of us is more comforting—and simpler—than we imagine.

The Bible
Quote:
And Jesus said unto them ... , "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to younder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

New Year Resolution 2015

Another new year, another ( same! ) set of new year resolutions. I wanted to read Thirukural and set target 50 last year but couldn't achieve it. But then I used one Kural in my every blog post . New Year Resolution List: For year 2016, I should shorten it to at least 1/3 of this list. At least, make it more readable ;) Reading Books: Book reading is going to be reduced this year. I am planning to reread few of the books I read last year. Of course, will find time to read books suggested by friends. I Am Malala, The Last Temptation of Jesus Christ, Mossad, 'The Madman, The Forerunner, Spirits Rebellious', Yudhargal Varalaarum Vaazkaiyum, If You Meet The Buddha On The Road Kill Him are few of the books I enjoyed reading. By the way, I have changed the FB album title from "Books I read" to "Books I read - Not To Be Shared" ;) Accounting: How difficu...
