NOKIA Bug?

Do you allow a LKG kid to take your mobile phone and use it? I do.

She is matured enough to talk over the phone to anyone she knows. And she is 'matured' enough to talk to her friend without actually dialing (simply because she doesn't know how to unlock). Since she holds the mobile safely, I am not afraid to give it to her.

Taking a photo is very simple with my mobile. You just have to nudge the camera cover down and get it opened, press the center button on the navigation panel. She loves to take photos, probably she prefer watching the image in front of the camera moving on the screen and enjoys the click sound. I am happy as long as she could move some of the 'objects' so that it comes under the camera, without disturbing me.

Last week, I got a polite SMS from one of my friends: "May I know the reason, why you called me so early in the morning?" I was bit surprised because I didn't call him. I checked the dialed number and his number was there. Well, I knew it was my cute little photographer's work.

It happens because if you press the cancel key you get the main menu and since I have shortcut keys assigned, one of the key press takes it to the contacts and one more key press makes a 'accidental call' (more dangerously some other key press deletes the contact itself)

Though I always lock the keypad it gets unlocked automatically when you open the camera. That is fine as you require it to access camera mode options. When you click on the cancel key it goes to the main menu. Since I am still allowed to press keys this 'accident' could happen. Is it not a bug, keypad unlocked without pressing unlock keys?

Is it wise to give the mobile phone to kids, who could unintentionally do anything that might hurt you? I don't know. Now I have changed the shortcut keys so that it goes to 'safe' applications like Music. Of course, I have to press few more keys to get my contact list.

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.

The Power Game

Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same. If you look ...
