Don’t block the power of the volcano

I never hated volcanoes. I might have, if there are as many volcanoes as the mountains in the world or just one active volcano near my place. Volcano eruptions produce hazardous gases. It destroys the surrounding environment. It even impacts the psychology of the lives. Why volcanoes? Why the emotion anger? Nature has nothing that exists without a purpose, every so often beyond our understanding.

Though volcano eruptions are visible to the world when they happen, they are the result of processes happening inside the earth for several years. Though we feel the emotion instantly, the reason for our anger is mostly a result of our accumulated beliefs. It typically is a clash between what we believe and the force that tries to alter that belief. Of course, apart from psychological reasons, physical pains also cause anger, but they are momentary.

While we usually laugh when the child gets angry and the way he expresses it, our elders see our anger similarly. Perhaps that is why we talk a lot about controlling our anger as much as possible, as the time taken gives a different perspective of it. But should we really suppress our anger every time? It is natural to get angry and so why control, suppress it? I think that is because we are humans, and we constantly define our own “natural” and the “right” way of doing things though its perfection seems immensely far away.

A wise human understands when to show anger and when to suppress it and when to control it, regardless of whether it is right or not. He may fail at times, but he will eventually learn it as there are forces to teach it - from love to the power of the other side. So count 1, 2, 3… to control your anger and make it die. By this you are losing something of you for the good of you. Please note, dormant volcanoes are as dangerous as other volcanoes. Only the dead volcanoes are safe. By nature, not all volcanoes are dead and that should be fine.

New Year Resolution 2015

Another new year, another ( same! ) set of new year resolutions. I wanted to read Thirukural and set target 50 last year but couldn't achieve it. But then I used one Kural in my every blog post . New Year Resolution List: For year 2016, I should shorten it to at least 1/3 of this list. At least, make it more readable ;) Reading Books: Book reading is going to be reduced this year. I am planning to reread few of the books I read last year. Of course, will find time to read books suggested by friends. I have got Bhagavad Gita tamil version from my friend and might read this before the end of 2015. I Am Malala, The Last Temptation of Jesus Christ, Mossad, 'The Madman, The Forerunner, Spirits Rebellious', Yudhargal Varalaarum Vaazkaiyum, If You Meet The Buddha On The Road Kill Him are few of the books I enjoyed reading. By the way, I have changed the FB album title from "Books I read" to "Books I read - Not To Be Shared" ;) Accounting: How difficu...

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.
