My Hansie and WFH experience

Does my WFH make any difference in Hansie’s daily life? I think the following is what Hansie would say about it.

He wakes up very early. Yes, very early, even before the sunrise. I don’t like it. I don’t think I can do any meaningful work at that time. I just watch him for a few minutes and I go to sleep again. Thank God, unlike many naughty guys around, he doesn’t come and disturb me.

When I am not that sleepy, I go with him to the terrace. He walks toward the crows and squirrels, rather slowly and casually. I was really afraid initially as he might harm them. No, they just hop here and there, and he returns without doing anything. I think those crows and squirrels come there for their breakfast.

He takes the breakfast along with me and then when the laptop is opened, it is time for work. We don’t even see each other till lunch though he sits very near to me. I wonder how he maintains time, he looks at me as if he is very hungry almost at the same time every day. No matter how much disturbance it was for me at that time, I simply go with him. We take a 30 minutes break for lunch and then there is a tea break in the evening.

I get really excited when he closes the laptop as that means I am getting my play time soon. We go to terrace again and I get little treats to eat. We play for 10-20 minutes, and then I am happy to welcome my bedtime.

By the way, the researchers have already warned that the pets would psychologically suffer a lot when the pandemic WFH ends. I hope I will manage it when he goes to the office.

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.

The Power Game

Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same. If you look ...
