They sing, they dance - I watch

Tuesday was a holiday but I decided to come to office. I need to walk from home for about five minutes and then take bus to reach office. It was a very hot. Of course, it was almost noon. I heard a chime like bike horn sound from the behind, for a moment I thought I was about to get lift to the bus stop. He revved up the engine and drove off in few seconds. That was okay. Perhaps he doesn’t know that everyone in the world needs some help from someone at any moment. You can always help if you know how to see it.

It was an empty bus and I took the seat at front so that I could watch the road and enjoy the travel. There was a car at the traffic signal and bus driver wanted him to go as there was no one crossing the road. He signaled his intentions by continuous honking. The car was not moved. It was fair enough. He was obeying the traffic rules. When the signal turned green, he paused for few seconds - just a few seconds - to hint the bus driver that he was annoyed. Was it a right thing to do? Perhaps he doesn’t know that just following the rules is never going to be enough to lead a righteous living, a true human life.

Oops, the vroom of the fast moving cars and other vehicles … I am always scared of crossing roads. Just one wrong step, the step that you cannot take back, can take your life away in a second. Life and death are never guaranteed to be a two faraway things. Perhaps we never know the moment that makes us utter fools and force us to take that single step.

This tree is full of flowers and leaves. The caw caw sound from the crows took my attention, after a long time, I didn’t even remember when I heard them last. They got a wonderful nest there. They don’t learn from other birds. It is just the same style that I used to see in my childhood days. What if we humans too have not evolved? I guess it would be no tougher than this life. Perhaps I could never live the life of even my grandparents’ generations.

If you are wondering what I am talking about… it is just those sounds. The horn sounds, people chattering, birds twittering and many more of them everyday. Of course, not to mention about the myriads of them that we can hear only if we pay attention to them. At times, even the louder ones can be heard only if we listen. Thinking of all these reminded me of the movie Shabdo, a story of a foley artist.

How wonderful it is have a sip of cold water after walking in the scorching mid day sun! With far less people around, it was very quiet in the office. Even in the quietness, in the quietness of all the external things, varied thoughts - about people, life, politics, sports, laws, … came with their singing and dancing in the mind. They were very loud and clear as usual. Sometimes I watch them and I ignore them mostly. Perhaps, even the deaf people are not devoid of sounds. After all, just like you and me, their mind too makes all the noises in the morning to wake them up.

The Kite Runner

Usually, I buy and read book suggested by my friends but no one suggested me to read the book "The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini". I neither heard about it before I accidentally bought it. I was looking for the books I planned to buy in the Chennai Bookfair 2011 and I found this book . There was something attractive, though it was not as beautiful as of many of the books cover design, it should be the cover of it, because all I could see was only the book cover. I took it in my hand and asked myself, should I buy this?, yes was the answer and I bought it. I completed reading this book last week, after keeping it the shelf for almost 2 years. I am glad I got this book. It is one of best books I read in the recent years. The phrase " For you, a thousand times over " lingering in the mind is the proof that I really enjoyed reading this book and moved so much ;) " I became what I am today at the age of twelve, on a frigid overcast day in the winter of 1975 &

New Year Resolution 2015

Another new year, another ( same! ) set of new year resolutions. I wanted to read Thirukural and set target 50 last year but couldn't achieve it. But then I used one Kural in my every blog post . New Year Resolution List: For year 2016, I should shorten it to at least 1/3 of this list. At least, make it more readable ;) Reading Books: Book reading is going to be reduced this year. I am planning to reread few of the books I read last year. Of course, will find time to read books suggested by friends. I have got Bhagavad Gita tamil version from my friend and might read this before the end of 2015. I Am Malala, The Last Temptation of Jesus Christ, Mossad, 'The Madman, The Forerunner, Spirits Rebellious', Yudhargal Varalaarum Vaazkaiyum, If You Meet The Buddha On The Road Kill Him are few of the books I enjoyed reading. By the way, I have changed the FB album title from "Books I read" to "Books I read - Not To Be Shared" ;) Accounting: How difficu
