again, the bye routine and my problem

It is very “rare” and hence you are very lucky if you already had a chance to meet someone, including self, who suffers Monday Blues I wonder whether long weekends can help you to get a sweeter Monday or not! So, how is it with other vacations? How about the summer holidays?

Summer holidays is the April - May school holidays and you are in a new class after the holidays. I don’t know whether it is universal or not.

It is hard to find any other happiest day in the year when you consider the last exam day before the summer holidays. It is still the same feel when you wear the parents’ hat. Isn’t?

For me, even if I don’t have calendars, there are three regular indicators to say that the summer has arrived. The shops in the market are filled with mounds of mangoes - the king of summer fruits - at the price that is too less for the magic they do on your taste buds. The Nungu fruits are the next seasonal fruit that is seen everywhere. I guess you love to scoop out the jelly part with your fingers and eat. Of course, obviously the scorching Sun. I never missed them in my schooldays.

There are thousands of things you can do during summer holidays, in those old days as well as in this modern(!) times. No matter what you do, you stack them all in your special memory and wait for the single day - the school reopening day - to narrate them all to your classmates. Probably, you, as a kid, wouldn’t have worried much about the school reopening because you got many things to be excited about. Are you, as an employee, worried about it now? Am I?

Your kid may go to play school. You adjust your timings such that you drop him at the school and come to work. Your kid’s school is in a different direction and you may arrange a share-auto for your kid and few others. School van can also feasible/unavoidable in many places. You may buy a bicycle for your kid who got promoted to high school. Or bike for those who go to college. Of course, hundreds of college buses are available for the colleges located in remote areas. It can also be from college to work transition and companies increase their bus count to accommodate their new employees. mmm… a single summer holidays can make these things happen. When the summer holidays end and the school time bye routine begins again at home, I watch the green, the orange, and the red at least more than once at the same signal. I am fine with that :)

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.

The Power Game

Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same. If you look ...
