My diary of dreams, the 150th!

It is not about the dreams like that of Martin Luther King Jr. or A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s. It is just the usual dreams that come while we sleep. One of my New Year resolutions this year is to make a note of all my dreams. Just after sharing this idea with my friends, one of them gifted me a beautiful diary. True, that motivated me to start writing whenever I get a dream.

I am sure you would have argued and fought with your brother/sister/teacher in your dream in your school days. If you think otherwise, check it with your parents ;) By the way, the statistics say that we can remember only 5% of our dreams. That was a bit of challenging thing for me to accept. I felt I remember everything. But true, apart from a very few, I forgot everything even before I start the day. That was when I got this diary idea. I would write my dream in the diary as a first thing in the morning and hence I would record at least 80% of them.

My favourites are those that show the colourful crystal balls and stars which I can hold and play. Of course, the nightmares are those that I am being very late the exam or prepared for the wrong test. It is never easy to find words for dreams ranging from “oh, God! It is just a dream” to “thank God, it is just a dream”. There are lots of fantasy things. How can you write about something that no one in the world has never seen? Yeah, "Avatar" or "Yesterday" kind of things can be done. But I can’t do that :(

Anyway, despite all the difficulties, I already got 149 entries for this year and when I wanted to write my 150th today morning, I found my diary missing from the desk. My 9 months of meticulous work… I was shocked. But then I immediately realised how I missed it - I just woke up and I know I never had a diary. So I thought I would share it here, the first one!

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.

The Power Game

Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same.
