Shabdo

You love so deeply still you pay no attention to it. Do you? It is pleasing, soothing; yet you cannot find few minutes to listen or you cannot refrain yourself from distracted by something or someone. Can you? When was the last time you listened to the music played by someone else? It is not that you don't like but it simply not in your focus at that time. Do you really need to concentrate on these little things?

May be, not! You are in the pantry and looking at the sky through the window and find something beautiful in the cloud formation. You show it to your friend and he too appreciates the beauty of it. The next day you find another one of those nature's art work and you call someone reading the newspaper and show it. You find another cute one on another day and try to show it to as many people as possible, after all, you know that everyone likes nature and what you see is one of beautiful creations of it. Now this day it looks so beautiful with sun rays piercing through the dark clouds. You go to one corner of the work place, shout and invite everyone to see it. No one will come and I am sure you would have already got the name, the cloud mad man! But then you go on watching it and one day you may discover the cloud patterns and what that can cause to the atmosphere. You will help creating a artificial cloud pattern that can produce the rain and the one that can stop the rain. You will be awarded the nobel prize and above all you will become one of the geniuses in the history.

Yes, the greatest of discoveries are made by watching the nature closely, listening to the little things so deeply, focusing all the energy to the single point. If you have a pet dog, have you noticed it eating grass? It won't eat everyday and it won't eat all types of grass. If you gather more information and device the pattern you will know the reason. May be, that's how our Sidhars able to produce so many medical notes. You know the story of Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation. Don't you?

Actually, as a normal person, you don't have to go so deep. Mere alertness to the happenings around you and the heart to catch them with no valuation of any sort is perfectly beautiful to give a bit of happiness to your soul. It could be a bird flying around or kids running and shouting, a cute smile, teammate typing at 85 wpm, smoke from the cigarette edge, cool breeze, the plant and the pot next to your cubicle... yeah so many lovely little things! I agree, it is very difficult to set the limit and pathetic if it ends like Shabdo - wonderful movie by Kaushik Ganguly.

The Kite Runner

Usually, I buy and read book suggested by my friends but no one suggested me to read the book "The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini". I neither heard about it before I accidentally bought it. I was looking for the books I planned to buy in the Chennai Bookfair 2011 and I found this book . There was something attractive, though it was not as beautiful as of many of the books cover design, it should be the cover of it, because all I could see was only the book cover. I took it in my hand and asked myself, should I buy this?, yes was the answer and I bought it. I completed reading this book last week, after keeping it the shelf for almost 2 years. I am glad I got this book. It is one of best books I read in the recent years. The phrase " For you, a thousand times over " lingering in the mind is the proof that I really enjoyed reading this book and moved so much ;) " I became what I am today at the age of twelve, on a frigid overcast day in the winter of 1975 &

New Year Resolution 2015

Another new year, another ( same! ) set of new year resolutions. I wanted to read Thirukural and set target 50 last year but couldn't achieve it. But then I used one Kural in my every blog post . New Year Resolution List: For year 2016, I should shorten it to at least 1/3 of this list. At least, make it more readable ;) Reading Books: Book reading is going to be reduced this year. I am planning to reread few of the books I read last year. Of course, will find time to read books suggested by friends. I have got Bhagavad Gita tamil version from my friend and might read this before the end of 2015. I Am Malala, The Last Temptation of Jesus Christ, Mossad, 'The Madman, The Forerunner, Spirits Rebellious', Yudhargal Varalaarum Vaazkaiyum, If You Meet The Buddha On The Road Kill Him are few of the books I enjoyed reading. By the way, I have changed the FB album title from "Books I read" to "Books I read - Not To Be Shared" ;) Accounting: How difficu
