New Year Resolution 2013

Though it looks very much similar to the previous years, it is still not the same. My wish list for 2013 :)
  • Very much addicted to the the lovely voice in Um Paadham Panithen, words of God Will Make a Way, music and lyrics of Oru Naalil Vazhkai and the messages of Joel Osteen will continue to listen them, repeatedly.
  • Hoping to watch lots of videos of Marissa Mayer. Like one of my friends Madhavi, she is very energetic, enthusiastic, quick and inspiring.
  • It is between 72 - 75 kgs for the past five years and it is fine for me. Though I am less confident about it, hoping to remain in that range.
  • I should write at least one blog in every month.
  • I read few good books in 2012 and I should read at least 12 books in 2013 and write a summary of it. Here is the list of books I have (yet to read almost all of them)
  • Unlike last year, after listening to my colleague Muthukumaran, decided to attend the weddings (reception - only if attending the wedding is not possible) of my friends. Of course, I know many of my friends are getting married this year.
  • I should find time for drawing and listening to music.
  • One of the inspirations from the book The Story of My Experiments With Truth is doing daily accounting. I will do it.
  • I am not listening to my friends as much as they want me to do, I'll learn a bit on this.
  • Have to send one email to a person per day, exclusively thinking of that person, whom I can't meet/speak for at least a month.
  • Maximum 105 mins per week is going to be my Facebook time. Though it is almost right to share wedding, birthday invitations there, I'll ignore. And will also ignore jokes, quotes, videos - anything non-personal. I should find way to optimise my time here.
  • Wish to drop lots of things and live as simple as possible and earn more time than many of my friends.

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.

The Power Game

Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same. If you look ...
