Joel Osteen

I used to watch God TV for the sermons of TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer and one more person (I forgot) in my college days. Of course, that was no youtube time. Though I trust God, I am not a religious person, neither I wish to hear any religious talks. I used to listen to these people for just one single reason: The energy that showers with the things they wanted to say. Now, after many years, I wanted to listen to them again – again with no intention of getting the religious content. But then, I have forgotten their names. I vividly getting the picture of them but that is not sufficient for finding something on the internet. I googled it with random search texts like "Christian Sermons" and quickly found Joyce Meyer and TD Jakes. I couldn't get the name of the third person, though I vaguely remember that his name has "d" and "f" and there is "ff" or "lo" sound somewhere (Any help from you?). But what I found on this search and feeling gifted is Joel Osteen.

His sermons are extremely simple. He picks something and speaks it as a short message. The language is simple, message is clear, jokes in between and most of all, always positive and purely motivational. He doesn't speak of negative things. There is no "God will punish...", it is always "God will give...". There is very little quotes from the Bible. I think this is one of the most differentiating factor from other Christian speakers.

Here is the forgotten one:

New Year Resolution 2015

Another new year, another ( same! ) set of new year resolutions. I wanted to read Thirukural and set target 50 last year but couldn't achieve it. But then I used one Kural in my every blog post . New Year Resolution List: For year 2016, I should shorten it to at least 1/3 of this list. At least, make it more readable ;) Reading Books: Book reading is going to be reduced this year. I am planning to reread few of the books I read last year. Of course, will find time to read books suggested by friends. I have got Bhagavad Gita tamil version from my friend and might read this before the end of 2015. I Am Malala, The Last Temptation of Jesus Christ, Mossad, 'The Madman, The Forerunner, Spirits Rebellious', Yudhargal Varalaarum Vaazkaiyum, If You Meet The Buddha On The Road Kill Him are few of the books I enjoyed reading. By the way, I have changed the FB album title from "Books I read" to "Books I read - Not To Be Shared" ;) Accounting: How difficu...

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.
