10 Years of Yahoo! Mail

After using kovilpillai@usa.net for sometime, I created my Yahoo!Mail email Id. I think I had hotmail account also but I was comfortable with Yahoo! Mail. And then gMail came with some cool features, especially the storage. I still kept my Yahoo!Mail as a primary email id. And slowly(!) gMail overtook other email service providers and become very famous. It has been just few years since I started using gMail, merely because of the free pop service. I tried rediff and indiatimes too. Never felt great about them.




Few days back, I got an email from Yahoo!Mail thanking me for using Yahoo!Mail for more than 10 years. That was a "wow" moment for me, not because I got an email from Yahoo! but I have been using email for more than a decade. I tried Yahoo!Mail in iPhone and the desktop version. It is lot more matured to compete against gMail. Though gMail got lots of features, I still prefer Yahoo!Mail, because I am one of those who love Yahoo! Mail. It just got whatever I want to have.

New Year Resolution 2017

If you have read my previous year New Year resolution , you can skip reading this. Gained weight last year. I need to control it  Please don’t give me any suggestion   I need to learn at least 25 new English words (2 per month and 1 to make it round) and 365 non English I myself will get some resources Email forwards, Orkut, Facebook and now WhatsApp joins the list. So less time there and possibly will try to increase other modes of communication Your suggestions are welcome Clean up non-mandatory things... Will do this year too. Will try to get the photos organised - full year goal Thinking of online storage + hard disk. Do you have any good solution? Will increase the book reading time. The Power Game

 Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same.
