Catch M21

M21 runs in Tambaram - Vijayanagar route. It stops at Vijayanagar bus terminus. It stops there for about 5 minutes for the conductor to sign in his office. Then the bus goes to the other side to go to Tambaram. It stops there for another 5 - 10 minutes - break time for the driver and the conductor before they start. So there is about 20 minutes time for a passenger to get into the bus. People get into the bus at different places and time. Here are few…

Directly go the terminus, regardless of whether there is M21 or not, and get the bus.

+ Fairly comfortable travel
+ Good time for mobile conversation
- Extra waiting time
- Have to miss the other buses even if they are not crowded

Wait at the other side and go the terminus iff M21 arrives.
+ Works well on the worst case, i.e., no M21 for a long time
+ Even though late, possibilities for getting the seat is nearly 100%
- Might be oblivion of the traffic and run to catch the bus
- Tend to be double minded when the some other bus comes

Catch the bus while crossing the road.
+ Might get a chance to get the few remaining empty seats
- Stupid people, no road sense at all, at times these people create traffic jam, indirectly!
- Risk of falling down as the bus speed varies

Rush into the bus as soon as it stops at the other side.
+ Best case, they get a seat
- Another set of stupid people; there is no need to rush and disturb others, neither the bus starts immediately nor they will get a seat.

Get into the bus without rushing.
+ Bus won't be too crowded, so they can choose a comfortable place to stand
- Often times, they have to miss other buses which are equally crowded but go faster than M21

Catch the bus only when it starts.
+ Options are open and they can take the first bus that leaves
+ Get trained enough for worst cases: can travel in any bus, crowded is not at all a problem.
- Have to be a foot-board traveller

I intentionally leave few more not mentioned ;-)

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.

The Power Game

Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same. If you look ...
