colour of the RAINBOW

minsarakanvu

It is from the movie 'Minsara Kanavu' and the lyrics by 'Vairamuthu'. It may go like this:
I asked, "What is the kind of the saree the girl who is going on the bullock cart is wearing?" and the reply is "colour of the rainbow". Sometimes the smell brought by the raindrops that falls on the soil takes me to the rainbow.

There are so many songs that can stay in your heart forever and, perhaps, this is not(?) of that caliber yet these lines are very attractive to me as they raised some strange questions as soon as I listen to it.

The actor puts in a question "What kind of the saree that the girl is wearing?" and the answer he got is "rainbow colour!". He is a blind and how does he know the colour of the rainbow?. He himself gives an answer - "The aroma spread by the fresh rain drops that falls on the earth takes him to the rainbow" He feels the majesty of rainbow in the form the fragrance of the earth. For him, the colour of the rainbow is the smell that he feels.

Can we see things without eyes? Some may feel red is good because they relate it with the evening sun and some may feel red is bad because they relate it with the blood scattered around the person died on a accident. It is not the colour, it is the kind of mood it creates in you that matters! When you say THIS IS RED if both you and the other person feels the same then you shared what you want to share with him, he doesn't even need to see it. Of course, we define things to make sure everybody gets the same mood otherwise it will be a big chaos.

Parrot green, candle light, dead yellow leaf ... how does the blind know them all? But I am sure God has given him another dictionary! And of course, God plays very well and He has infinitely long list of mysteries to make us believe in Him.

My Book Shelf - Year 2017

I find it difficult to get this reading order. And I guess it would be still harder to read them without changing the order. I may allow one or two new books to be included in this list, if required. Share book reviews and ratings with Kovil Pillai, and even join a book club on Goodreads.

The Power Game

Even if you count from the Homo sapiens time, it has been half a million years and from the caveman life to the one who attempts to control the universe, the progress is tremendous. A number of struggles that we have overcome are unimaginable. I am still not convinced whether all these are part of the Divine plan or the Nature adjusts (if at all something is required) itself to any change that takes place in it. As long as we believe in science, we can truly appreciate our power and the things we have achieved. The oldest of the power struggles can be the one between men and women. It is perhaps so subtle that we can’t even call it a power struggle. While we manage to fight against external things, this is something happening in our own race, and we haven’t had an answer yet. A coffee selling 10 times costlier than the price of it in a decade ago may mean the coffee price has been raised. But when you compare it with the price of everything, it is relatively the same. If you look ...
